How to approach this practice

Identify the purpose of the task and plan your main points before writing. For a visual task, compare the important features and use the supplied data accurately.

  1. Commuting at the office · Report

Write your own response, addressing every part of the task.

Your manager wants a report on greener commuting. Of 60 staff surveyed, 30 drive alone, 18 use public transport and 12 walk or cycle. Staff report that cycle parking is insecure and the last evening bus leaves before the late shift ends. Write a report recommending two practical changes.

    Task requirements

    • Summarise the current position accurately.
    • Connect recommendations to the reported problems.
    • Explain which change should be prioritised.

Write at least 140 words. Suggested practice time: 25 minutes.

What to review next

Check every task requirement, paragraph organisation, word choice and sentence accuracy. Revise your response after reviewing any feedback you choose to request.

A focused practice result shows how you did on these tasks. Use several activities across skills to decide what to study next; one practice score does not certify an overall CEFR level.
