How to approach this practice

Read the question or cue card and think of a relevant experience or opinion. Use short notes rather than memorising a script.

  1. Question 1 · Speaking response

Answer aloud in your own words. Develop your ideas with a reason or example.

You borrowed a microphone from your university media desk for a project. You were due to return it tomorrow, but your interviewee is only available the following day. Speak to the member of staff. Explain the situation, ask to keep the microphone for one more day, and offer a clear return time.

What to review next

Listen back to your recording. Check that you answered the question, developed your ideas and spoke clearly. Record a second response after reviewing any feedback you choose to request.

A focused practice result shows how you did on these tasks. Use several activities across skills to decide what to study next; one practice score does not certify an overall CEFR level.
