Information in a Hostel Welcome Email
Subject: Welcome to Pine Street Hostel Hello Sam, Welcome to Pine Street Hostel. We hope your trip is easy. You can check in from 2 p.m. If you arrive after 9 p.m., please ring the bell at the front door. Breakfast is served in the kitchen from 7 to 9 each morning. At the desk, you can borrow a city map or ask for a clean towel. You can leave your bag at the desk before check-in, and there is free tea in the evening, too. We also have a small laundry room. Our quiet time starts at 10 p.m., because some guests get up early. The bus station is ten minutes away on foot, and the old market is even closer. If you want advice, talk to Marta at reception; she knows the town well. Enjoy your stay and see you soon, The Pine Street Hostel team

What to review next
Find the words that support each answer. For a mistake, compare the question with the evidence and identify the detail or inference you missed.
A focused practice result shows how you did on these tasks. Use several activities across skills to decide what to study next; one practice score does not certify an overall CEFR level.
Before you practise: a worked example
Look for evidence in the text. Separate what the writer says from what you already know about the topic.
The library normally closes at six, but on Fridays it stays open until eight. When does it close on Friday?
The answer is eight. But introduces an exception to the normal closing time, so the first time mentioned is not the answer.
This teaching example is separate from the scored questions. After your test, compare any mistakes with the explanation and revisit the topic before trying again.
