A Cinema’s Family Offer

Green Street Cinema invites families to enjoy our Saturday offer. A family ticket costs only £18 and includes two adults and two children. Children under five do not need a ticket. Families must book before the film starts. Our first film begins at 10:30 a.m., and families can enter from 10:00. This month, enjoy Little Fox, a new animal film. Some families choose the early show because it is quieter. The cinema is near the bus station, so it is easy to find. On rainy days, many people arrive early and buy snacks at the desk. Friendly staff smile and check tickets at the door. Maria, a cinema worker, says the offer is popular because the price is low and the seats are comfortable. Grandparents also like this simple, good-value family outing. After the film, stay for juice and popcorn in our small café. Make your family booking today!

Find the words that support each answer. For a mistake, compare the question with the evidence and identify the detail or inference you missed.

A focused practice result shows how you did on these tasks. Use several activities across skills to decide what to study next; one practice score does not certify an overall CEFR level.

Before you practise: a worked example

Look for evidence in the text. Separate what the writer says from what you already know about the topic.

The library normally closes at six, but on Fridays it stays open until eight. When does it close on Friday?

The answer is eight. But introduces an exception to the normal closing time, so the first time mentioned is not the answer.

This teaching example is separate from the scored questions. After your test, compare any mistakes with the explanation and revisit the topic before trying again.
